Hello Hong Kong

Every once in a long while, I get the chance to travel. This year, I won a trip for two to Hong Kong. I reckoned it's a good idea to spend some time with dad traveling. Coincidentally, my auntie also won a ticket. However, she didn't have the the availability at the time, so she gave it to my uncle instead. That's how it happened.

Here's what we've seen during our stay there, among other things.

Chandelier At The Hotel

A portion of this story was updated as it happened on Instagram, but a lot of the sights can also be found here. Captions can be found on the Flickr page if you're interested to read them. Just click on the image and you'll be redirected there.

By this time we've felt some hunger and we decided to go have some authentic Hong Kong breakfast... One that's not found anywhere else in the world.

But then again, this is what we've stumbled upon. The search for the unique Hong Kong experience will have to wait another time. With my companions getting hungry, this will have to do. I didn't think that they're that adventurous, anyway.

Breakfast In HK

McMenu

After breakfast, we decided to head back to the hotel. As it was already getting late in the day, the streets are getting crowded. It has become a target rich environment for me. Despite the heat I enjoyed taking pictures.

We managed to get back to the hotel where I didn't wander into some camera shop. We got to rest when we got back to the hotel, a short respite for our weary legs. By about noon time already, we decided to hit the streets again, in search of authentic HK cuisine. No, not McDonald's. This time for real.

After that sumptuous lunch we had, we went on to look around- that means more walking. Everything here in HK just looked real amazing to me. We chanced upon some underground walkways which was more comfortable to be in compared to anything in Metro Manila. We spent the rest of the time strolling around malls browsing at random things.

By this time, we've gotten tired and decided to head back to the Hotel. Again. Yes we go back to the hotel a lot. The hotel was an expense well utilized given that we've spent quite a considerable time there.

Holiday In Chandelier

By this time we've come back to the hotel, tired and weary. For now we have to rest our weary selves, enjoying some respite from all the walking... Until four in the afternoon later that is. But the day is far from over. The best is yet to come.

Also, yes-  we did take a few wrong turns from time to time. Annoying, but there was no harm done- it somewhat added to the experience. Don't let that deter you from going out to wander. More to come soon.
