An Evening At The Town Center

This is the fourth of my Alabang series. I first got lost in Filinvest and had lunch there. After lunch I regained by bearings and went to my errand. After my errand was done I found Alabang Town Center and marveled at the rather artsy sculptures. After that I took an afternoon stroll and admired the unique architecture and I had an awesome mozzarella dinner. The sun is now setting...

After I had that meal I stepped out yet again...When was the last time you admired the sky?

Orange Clouds
Orange Clouds. It starts to get crowded as sunset approaches. Lots of folks doing the shopping after work. I glanced overhead and saw the sun sinking to the west. The clouds glow a fiery orange that gets more vibrant as the moments pass by before it gets dark.

Afternoon At The Town Center

How time flies... It's already been more than a month since I've been there. I've posted earlier the Stallions as a separate entry because I found them to be unique and I had more than enough pictures of them to make a separate entry. I haven't seen any mall with such decorations. At least not yet. But they're not the only ones I took a picture of. It was a lovely afternoon after all and there were lots to see. At least for me.

Stairs Towards Interesting Things
Stairs Towards Interesting Things. It was around mid afternoon at the time. It wasn't too bright nor the light was any dramatic. These unassuming stairs don't look like much but it's after going through them that I found some fun things. Horse sculptures, among others.

Steel Stallions Of Alabang Town Center

Horses made of wire, roaming around the place. I watched them all afternoon to my heart's desire.

Fiddling Around Filinvest City

I got lost here... And didn't even know it. This wasn't the mall I was looking for. But I'm still glad I ended up here anyway.

Purple Frames
Purple Frames. I'm not sure what this was about but the sculpture there at the center was certainly eye catching. It's both simple and artsy. I like it.

Cold Stone Creamery - Timber

I somehow ended up in Alabang Town Center. I stumbled upon these folks. Needless to say, I had fun taking this video. They're kind of cute here. Pictures on my jaunt here coming soon. Ice cream anyone?

Quiet Coffee Nights

Not every night is a restful night for someone used to staying up late at night. When it's my night off and I'm having a bout of insomnia, I tend to go out. And so here I wander again. Here are a few shots I have from some nights I've been out.

Here, There, Anywhere...

Hello again, fellow wanderers! How have you been? As usual, a week isn't complete without me going to some random place. Life isn't meant to be lived in one place, after all. I think it's a decent compromise to at least go places on a weekend if you can't roam the planet... yet. Here's a glimpse of the places I've been to recently... Can you guess where some of them were taken?

Fiddling With RAW Meat

It seems I have tendencies to word things a bit differently. Oh the puns I play with. No, I'm not playing with food. Nor meat for that matter. No meat was fiddled with during the creation of this entry... But there were some cooked meat that were consumed.

Waiting For The Order. My buddy explores the whole room while we wait for the goodies we ordered. Yes, I have scary friends. He will cut you. Beware. LOL just kidding, he's a nice guy.

Memories Under The Starry Night

If you've been following this from the start since Nuvali, you're awesome! Thank you for spending time with me on this journey.

The day has been long, the thoughts heavy and the memories dragging. I found some temporary respite when I went to Sky Ranch being able to somehow keep a broken vow. I now am homeward bound. But it's not as simple as going straight home. My last stop in this journey-- Starbucks Tagaytay.

Overlooking The Lake. This was taken last November 2010 on the second floor balcony of Starbucks Tagaytay. This was the first time I set foot in Tagaytay.

The Big Wheel At The Cliffside

I've seen that beautiful place and I found some temporary silence as I went on. But the mind wasn't at peace as some questions lingered on. Perhaps further towards the mountains I may find, not necessarily answers but some temporary respite to the boggled mind. And so I went to visit that big wheel on the cliff side. Yes, this is where I went after I wandered off to Nuvali.

And so I ended up here. Because reasons. I once promised a girl we'd go here. I'd never make a girl a promise I know I can't keep. Then again, I never had the chance to keep this promise.

Lost At Nuvali

I've been recently going through some very sad days. But that's for another entry. March has been morose a month for me, and I needed to somehow distance myself from the blues and even for a fleeting moment and get away. And so I went and pursued some jaunts that I've been planning to do with someone, which I ended up doing it by myself. Down south is this place I've heard about but haven't really visited. It's called Nuvali.

The place is more vast than I thought... Lots of vacant grasslands and a lovely lagoon.
Strolling in here is a walk in a park. ;)

Shooting In The Dark

During workdays this is what I see when I step out to grab dinner.
I'm amazed at how much detail it got. Taken hand held too.

It was another long night. I didn't want to just stay at home. So I decided to get lost somewhere... Again.

A Night At The Park

It was a bit of a  lonely night. I didn't feel like going through my usual routine and was up for exploring something different.

Under a cloudy moonlit night below the towering monstrosities I gazed upon the sky and mused to myself...
"I'm hungry. Gotta get dinner."

Harbor Square Afternoon

Empty Chairs on a Cloudy Afternoon

I hardly go to Harbor Square these days. These were taken from a few months ago when I was with my dad and bro. Harbor Square will always have its charm for me though. It's where I learned a lot when I was practicing the very basics in Photography. I practically learned how to do night photography in Harbor Square.

The Contrast Behind The Contrast

It's amazing what one simple contrast in an image can convey. Humor me as I try to be an art fart for this post. I took a picture of a friend while she was puffing on a cigarette. This may be the most contrasting image I've ever taken.

Contrasts. I see the contrast in more than one level. What do your portraits convey?

To begin with she was wearing a flamboyantly loud and colorful blouse. To me it was very eye catching and I really liked it. She's a nice and funny girl but the expression on her face and the hardcore way she puffs on that cigarette gives me a "Try your luck messing with me and I will tear you apart and feed you to my pet Arowanas". That night she looked like the most fabulous gangster I've ever seen. One can only imagine the contrast in that. To bring out the contrast I envisioned when I saw her dress I dulled out the rest of the image, which emphasized how that dress stood out. The overall image and dress I think conveys the complex and contrasting person in the image. How about you? What's the story in your picture?

Until then, Let's get lost and wander! :)

Wedding Portrait

This is just a one off shot. It's from a sepia shot and added some more built in filter from Photobucket. This is a portrait of my friends on their wedding day taken after the ceremony. I particularly like this shot as to how they're arranged. The bride and groom are wearing their gown and suit respectively but they're positioned like it's a casual prom in a setting that looks real classy.

I guess I'm a bit of a romantic with this image for imagining several rowdy kids in a room with their parents generations from now and their mom would be saying, "Kids, come here, gather 'round. Do you know who these people are in the picture? Let me tell you a story about your lola and lolo..."

After The Event, March 8, 2014

... After a generation or two, how will your pictures look like?

A Shot Of The Water, Filtered

I got this shot of a fountain when I was attending a wedding last March. And by filtered, I don't mean the water. I meant the shot. I was playing with Filter Bracketing (One shot, all the filters!) and applied all the filters I liked on the shot.

In grainy black & white. Sorry, no fine misty white water.
This was hand held when I took it. Long exposure wasn't an option.

Lost At The Mind Museum

Okay, so not really lost. Around a few weeks ago in August I was wandering at the Mind Museum with a friend. Here's what happened on that fun day...

The way they make their signs is a nice touch.

Last Friday Night At Burgos Circle

It was one of the rare Friday nights I experienced this year- Friday with no work currently nor in the morning. I got to meet up and have a couple of bottles with some buddies at the office. At the end of the night, a bit of wanderlust struck me...

Wide and Bent. Courtesy of a fisheye lens.
"This is too early to go home and sleep," I mused to myself.
"... It's not everyday that you're out here with a camera on a Friday night. Let's walk a bit."

And so I did...

Sunday At Ayala Triangle

I've never been to Ayala Triangle. For starters, I thought the place wasn't open to the public to  begin with. I thought it's part of the property of Makati Stock Exchange and Philippine Stock Exchange... And, well, not open to the public. Good thing I'm wrong. Basically, I got kinda lost again and had a good time. :)

Whoa. I didn't know there was a park here.
